Specialist Visit

Good morning. We took Hunter to an allergist yesterday because of his numerous sinus infections and allergy problems. The stuck him 32 times with different allergens. It really scratched up his back and he cried. :( I gave him crackers and the nurse gave him a hand full of stickers so that cheered him up. We had to wait 20 minutes to see if there was any reaction. It turns out he a mild (he scored a 2 on a scale of 4) reaction to grass pollen, dust mites, mold spores, soy, and peanut. Unfortunately most of these are in the air and are unavoidable. The doctor said he wasn't concerned at this point. He said most kids still have under developed immune systems and they will outgrow it by 2 or 2 1/2. He doesn't think its necessary to continue with his daily allergy medicine. He wants to see him again in 6 months but if we have a lot of problems between now and then, we have to go see an ENT. He also told me about an over the counter medication that might help nip it in the bud and might avoid us going to the doctor. I am hoping this just goes away!

Hunter is doing great. He is back to loving school and runs right in. He even says "school" when we pull up in the parking lot and get in his classroom. His vocabulary is increasing everyday.. he is such a smart boy. He is an expert at riding his plasma car and he still loves his Sesame Street and Winnie the Pooh figurines (thanks Dad)!

Hunter will be 17 months in 10 days so I will give you another update then. Hope this finds you well!

Love,
Me
